ACCOUNTING versus TAXES
Most people believe that taxes are the main activity of an accountant.
TRUTH OR MISCONCEPTION?

An accountant is a generic title for a person who performs several different activities, including tax preparation, bookkeeping, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll processing, financial information preparation, financial corporate and personal planning, management consulting and Certified Public Accounting, to mention only a few.

Each activity is not clearly recognized by the general public. They all have a relationship with books and records of an economic entity. Each accountant provides different services and therefore requires different skills.

One of the activities that requires the most skills and preparation is the Certified Public Accountant ("CPA"). His/her main function is to issue an opinion about the certainty of the figures presented in financial information , specifically balance sheets, income statements, owners equity, and cash flow statements. This opinion needs to be supported by a very professional examination or audit of the entity and only licensed professionals are allowed to emit their opinion in a so called "Report". This activity is strictly regulated by state professional organizations and by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, which has a rigorous code of professional conduct.

Other activities like financial planning are equally regulated; but most activities of carrying out books and management consulting of small businesses depend only on the academic preparation, experience and personal ethics of the professionals who offer these services.

So, effectively, when  the general public believes that an accountant is equal to tax preparation, it is nothing but a misconception of the ample range of services that an accountant can provide to a business, association, charity, governmental agency or any entity conducting economic activities.

GO Services' specialty is issuing financial information that truly helps the owners or administrators to manage the entity instead of being managed by the entity.

Is a budget the right tool? Can I afford it?  Is my business a bottomless barrel or a milk cow?  Is my inventory at the correct and efficient level?  Am I purchasing the right quantities?  Should I purchase or rent machinery and equipment?  Am I giving the right limit of credit to my customers?  Are my loans at a risky level?

We can help to answer these and many more questions.

Control in your hands is the key of our services.
